Questions to ask when troubleshooting Error Messages
If you receive an error message within your Micro Key software, here are questions to ask before reporting the issue:
Is this a single incident?
Can I force replicate it?
Was I able to save all but the data that errored?
Did I have valid data?
Did I save recently?
Is this for to a single user or workstation?
Have I seen this before?
Was there any networking issues or system taxing at the time of the issue?
What troubleshooting steps did I take to figure out why this issue may have occurred?
Is this related to permissions?
When reporting error messages, it is highly useful to:
- Screen shot of error message.
- Version number (Micro Key and Windows)
- How you are accessing Micro Key (Locally, RDP, Hosted VPN, etc.)
